Hello - and welcome! My name is Claire Pitcher.

I’ve been a Registered Nurse with Certified Practice (Contraceptive Management & STI Management) since 2011. I have extensive experience working in direct care, administrative leadership, research, and clinical + classroom-based teaching.

I completed a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Food Science with a minor in Human Ecology from the University of Alberta, and from the University of British Columbia School of Nursing I have completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, a Master of Science in Nursing (supervisor: Dr. Elizabeth Saeywc), and I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. in nursing (supervisor: Dr. Annette Browne).

My primary professional interests include adolescent health with a focus on mental health, substance use, and supporting equitable access to health care services. I am particularly interested in how a public health and harm reduction approach can promote whole person wellness among adolescents. I am passionate about the work I do, and I love to partner with people in any & all sorts of personal & professional projects.
